Course Descriptions
 
Dance Fusion 1 (ages 4 & 5) and Dance Fusion 2 (ages 6 & 7)
These classes are designed for students as young as 4 years old and are set up as Jazz/Tap/Ballet combo class. This provides the students with exposure to multiple dance forms. Children learn the joy of expressing themselves through movement, song and dance in these exciting classes! No experience required.
Dance Fusion 1 meets on Tuesday from 3:30pm - 4:30pm and is taught by Sarah Burke.  Dance Fusion 2 meets on Monday from 3:30pm - 4:30pm and is taught by Eileen King.

Introduction to Dance (ages 2.5 - 3.5)
This class introduces toddlers to the fundamentals of movement and rhythm creation. Students will learn basic skills in Ballet and Jazz.
Intro to Dance is not currently on the schedule 

Mommy/Daddy & Me (ages 18 months - 3 years)
This class invites Moms and Dads alike, to participate in a fun and energetic 45 min session! Bring your little one down to play and learn basics in movement and rhythm creation. (No registration fee required)
Mommy/Daddy & Me meets on Saturday from 9:45am - 10:30am and is taught by Eileen King.

Jazz 1 (ages 7+), Jazz 2 (ages 10+) and Jazz 3 (ages 14+)
These classes are designed to showcase a dancer’s individual style and originality. Consisting of both high energy and upbeat popular music, students will learn how to combine fast, intricate footwork, graceful spins and aerobic floor work. Students will also learn technique and strengthen their ability to learn high-end choreography. This class is separated into a beginning section (Jazz 1 ages 7+), an intermediate section (Jazz 2 ages 10+) and an advanced section (Jazz 3 ages 14+).
Jazz 1 meets on Wednesday from 5:00pm - 6:00pm and is taught by Sarah Burke.  Jazz 2 meets on Monday from  4:30pm - 5:30pm and is taught by Eileen King. Jazz 3 is not currently on the schedule.
Int. Lyrical Jazz and Advanced Lyrical Jazz (placement by instructor)
Lyrical Jazz is a deep, personal, emotional dance that is known by its connected and graceful movement of the body. It is a specific style of jazz that connects movement and music together by illustrating emotion through each movement. This class is separated into an intermediate and an advanced section, both of which are placement by instructor. 
Intermediate Lyrical jazz meets on Thursday from 4:00pm - 5:00pm and is taught by Eileen King. Advanced Lyrical Jazz meets on Wednesday from 7:00pm - 8:00pm and is Taught by Eileen King.

Jazz Funk (ages 16+)

Jazz Funk meets on Monday from 7:30pm - 8:30pm and is taught by Eileen King. 

Int Leaps & Turns (experience required) and Adv Leaps and Turns (ages 16+)
Technique is an important component in every dancers repertoire, as it enhances all of the student’s dance styles. This class will break down all turns and leaps. This class is highly recommended for any student who is interested in Lyrical Jazz and Ballet. This class is separated into two different sections. Intermediate Leaps & Turns is designed for dancers who already have some dance experience, and Advanced Leaps & Turns is designed for dancers ages 16 and older. 
Beginning/Intermediate Leaps & Turns meets on Thursday from 5:00pm to 6:00pm and is taught by Eileen King. Advanced Leaps & Turns is not currently on the schedule. 
Conditioning & Technique (ages 16+)
Focusing on toning the dancers body, this high-energy training will consist of an intensive ballet barre, abdominal conditioning and fast-paced jazz combinations to get your body in shape and improve your overall technique.
Conditioning & Technique meets on Tuesday from 7:30pm - 8:30pm and is Taught by Eileen King.

Ballet 1 (ages 10+) and Ballet 2 (placement by instructor)
This class will give students precise technique by teaching alignment, placement, balance and elegance.
Ballet 1 meets on Wednesday from 6:00pm -7:00pm and is taught by Cecilia Woods. Ballet 2 meets on Thursday from 7:30pm - 8:30pm and is taught by Cecilia LaBrasseur.

Pre Ballet (ages 4-6)
Pre-ballet classes, for children ages 4 - 6, awaken the child to music and dance, coordination, and spatial/motor skills.  Gentle guidance helps the beginner develop rhythm, cooperation, playful creative dance, and basic ballet skills.  The classes offer an atmosphere of fun within discipline so the children can gain a sense of accomplishment as well as exploring their love of dance and music.
Pre Ballet meets on Saturday from 10:30am - 11:30am and is taught by Eileen King.

Dance Funk (ages 7 - 9)
With a fusion of Jazz and Hip-hop, Students will learn choreography to upbeat, funky rhythms of their time.
Dance Funk is not currently on the schedule. 

R & B Hip-hop (ages 16+)
Groove to the latest R&B hits by learning top-notch hip-hop choreography. One of our most popular classes! 
R & B Hip-hop meets on Tuesday from 8:30pm - 9:30pm and is taught by Eileen King.

Teen Hip-Hop

Teen Hip-Hop meets on Sunday from 2:00pm - 3:00pm and is Taught by Isauro Saldana.

Kidz Hip-hop (ages 8+)
For kids who want to learn upbeat hip hop choreography to music of their time, as well as some basic break dancing moves.
Kidz Hip-hop meets on Friday from 4:00pm - 5:00pm and is taught by Eileen King.

Beginnig Hip Hop (ages 16+)
Students will learn beginning-level hip-hop choreography that can be used in any situation. Take your new moves to the club and show ‘em off!
Beginning Hip-hop meets on Sunday from 1:00pm - 2:00pm and is taught by Isauro Saldana.

Youth Breakin’ 1 (ages 6+) and Youth Breakin’ 2 (ages 8+)
This class will begin with conditioning to strengthen the upper body and core. Throughout the class, students will learn basic break-dancing as well as some power moves that require skill and patience. This class is separated into two sections: Youth Breakin’ 1 is designed for students ages 6 and older, and Youth Breakin’ 2 is designed for students ages 8 and older.
Youth Breakin‘1 is not currently on the schedule.  Youth Breakin’ 2 meets on Friday from 5:00pm - 6:00pm and is taught by Lou Lynner.

B-Boy Fundamentals
This one hour session will focus on introducing students to all basic aspects of the dance. Students will spend time learning Toprocks, footwork basics and techniques, entry level freezes and power-moves such as handstands, backspins, and windmills. Each student will be encouraged to mix ALL aspects of the dance, working to refine what they will come to find as their “style.” This is an Intermediate-level class.
Breakin’ Fundamentals meets on Monday from 6:30pm - 7:30pm and is taught by Lou Lynner.

Breakin’ Top Rocks (ages 16+) 
Before you go on the floor, you gotta warm up! Every breaker beings with a Top Rock; a series of steps performed in an upright position. This is the first impression of a breaker, and must be done with style, clarity and expression. It allows the dancer to feel out the beat, and prepare for the upcoming moves. If you want to be a b-boy or b-girl, this is the first step. This class is guaranteed to ROCK the dance floor!

Strength & Conditioning

Strength and Conditioning meets on Friday from 6:00pm to 7:00pm and is Taught by Lou Lynner. 

Yoga
This class consists of a one hour of stretching, lengthening , spinal twisting and strengthening. With combined techniques of ashtanga and kundalini yoga, this class will increase your flexibility, provide an intense cardio workout and increase your overall mental discipline.
Yoga is not currently on the schedule. 
Salsa
Learn an upbeat rhythmic dance that is being danced at local venues such as the Vets Club and Davis.  We will dive into this hot spicy dance with cool patterns, as we cover the necessary technique to make you look good on the dance floor.  This class will include lead and follow skills as well as Cuban Motion.  No experience is necessary and a partner is not mandatory. (Session begins 09-27-10 and no registration is required) 
Salsa Meets on Thursday from 8:30pm - 9:30pm and is taught by Jesse Jarvis.

Musical Theatre (ages 7+)
This class incorporates the practice of dancing, singing, and acting techniques, with set and prop design thrown in. Using music from Broadway shows and much more! This class is for ages 7 and up.
Musical Theatre meets on Wednesday from 4:00pm to 5:00pm and is taught by Sarah Burke.
